DAN HECK
Dan Heck is a professional jazz Guitarist and Bassist. This Origin Arts recording artist, composer and educator relocated to Naples from New York City in 2005. IN 1993, after graduating from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, he moved to Seattle and began establishing his professional jazz reputation there. As a founding member of the band "Bebop and Destruction", he experienced national success and recognition for his efforts, winning several awards and recording four critically acclaimed CD's with the group. From there, he moved to New York City, working in famous venues such as the Blue Note, the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Kavehaz, Flute, the Pierre Hotel, Cleopatra's Needle, and the French Consulate with a wealth of incredible musicians.
Locally, Dan headlines concert events for groups such as the Art League of Bonita Springs, Bayshore CAPA, and the Naples Botanical Gardens, and served as leader of the house band for Campiello from 2008-14.
For his latest recording "Compositionality", the dynamic and fluid Florida-based guitarist explores a collection of all original music. With his former Seattle bandmates as special guests - trumpeter Thomas Marriott and drummer Jose Martinez - Heck bobs and weaves through a rollicking set of modern mainstream jazz along with a nod toward the Blue Note soul/boogaloo recordings of the '60s on the opening cut, "One for Flo."
